first up, sketchy DJ rigsy is at the riff raff rooms in newry on saturday night. cracker wee venue, if you're in the area, check it out. kicked off last time!
as it's expected to be slightly less chaotic tomorrow night (but don't worry, it's always pretty busy at sketchy, thankfully) we're happily offering double guestlist - so get the requests in! please only ask for yourself (get yr mates to ask themselves), i request per IP address and as always priority given to those who include a request or comment on the blog.
and don't forget about FM BELFAST next week - honestly can't say enough how much fun they are live - this is one NOT TO BE MISSED!!

bizarrely, for the second week running, we're on to you about....something (vaguely) sporty. you can still sponsor us for running the marathon, but this week we're all about ROCCER, the now legendary 7-a-side footie tournament that takes place every year in Belfast. it's a tournament for teams made from bands, promoters, promoters, magazines or just regulars at the same club. this year it takes place on june 12 at the olympia and we hope to raise £2500 for Pretty n Pink.
I think it'd be cool to enter a team of sketchy regulars. anyone up for trying to put one together (i will help!) please email me at rigsy@sketchyclub.com
the standard is pretty poor to average (every team gets three group games which are always a bit of craic - gets more competitive in the last 16 and quarter finals) so don't be worrying about that.
COME ON! it'd be class. someone is bound to know enough people who go to the club that could make up a sketchy team?!

BUT, the only thing we're talking about this week is the fact TEAM SKETCHY (that'll be DJs Mark, Rigsy, Paul Hamill and Paul McClean with SK owner Alan Simms) are running the Belfast marathon on Monday!

it's for an amazing local breast cancer charity we're very happy to be involved with. i'll also be hosting a big football tournament on June 12th to raise money for the charity (i'll be on the hunt for a sketchy team of regulars if anyone is interested....will post up details on next weeks blog)

big news this week (for me anyway), is that FM BELFAST will perform live at Sketchy on May 20th!
we've not had many bands play Sketchy, mainly because it's hard to know what would work well. but this lot are PERFECT.
apart from the fact their music is amazing - kinda disco-y, electro, poppy lovliness - they're just so much fun live. they totally go for it, and i'm certain everyone will love them even if they've not heard a note of their album.
